What’s Your BIG Idea – The Better Newsletter #93

Have you ever wanted to give a TED talk on their main stage in Vancouver? Where, as curator Chris Anderson says, “You’ll have three giant screens behind you and 1,200 of the world’s most interesting people in front of you!”

If you’ve ever wished for that, now’s your chance.

Chris recently released a video announcing global auditions to find the best, brightest BIG IDEAS worth spreading.

Winners will be selected from Argentina, Australia, Greece, India, Jordan, Nigeria, Singapore, the UK, the US – and invited to speak at #TED2026.

They’re NOT looking for cliched topics like self-help. They ARE looking for groundbreaking ideas – unique, surprising, additive inventions – pioneering initiatives that are changing minds, lives, and communities – and for brilliant creators whose visionary work deserves more visibility.

I can vouch what a thrilling experience it is to speak on the TED stage as I was asked to be part of their town hall on the final day of this year’s event.

I said, “Our speakers have shown there’s two stories around us, all day, every day.

There’s the BAD news and there’s the GOOD news. The question is, ‘Which story will we feed? Which story will we lead?’

Will we rant, rail, and rage about what’s wrong? Or will we create, contribute to, and collaborate with what’s right?

What is ours to do?

When things go wrong, we don’t have to go with them. We can use our gifts to be a force for good – today and every day.”
