The Gift of Gratitude – The Better Newsletter #61

Last year, we went around the table at Thanksgiving to share highlights of the year and to express our thanks.

When we finished, Andrew said, “Why do we only do this once a year?

Good question! Why not start every meal with each person taking a minute to express appreciation for something good that happened that day?

Walt Whitman is right… The best present we can give is to be present to the blessings in our life, and that means showing our gratitude, not just feeling it.

This Thanksgiving – we have a choice… We can talk about whether the turkey is dry and what divides us – or we can have a “rising tide” discussion about the many things right in our world.

And if you’re thinking this is being a Pollyanna, yes it is. After all, as Esther Hicks points out, “Pollyanna led a very happy life.
