Turn Status Quo Into Status Grow – The Better Newsletter #155

ANECDOTE

I’ve been in Southern California speaking and was supposed to fly home to Texas for a few days, and then fly back to SoCal for another speaking engagement.

Well, the universe had different plans…

A nudge whispered, “You need a pattern interrupt. If you return home, the rubber band of routine will snap back, and you’ll revert to same-old, same-old.”

I listened to the nudge, booked a hotel on San Diego Bay, and I’m so glad I did!

My soul started singing, and my system did a happy dance. Mini-miracles started showing up because, now, there was room at my mental inn.

A massage turned into  deep-tissue body work by a magical energy healer who had some important messages about how to take better care of my health.

Clarity about what wants to be written started pouring into me so fast my fingers could hardly keep up.

Smart, talented visionaries who thrill me with the good they’re doing in the world reached out to schedule coaching.

If you know me, you know I believe we’re not doing this alone.

I believe metaphorical boats and helicopters are sent to support us all the time.

We just have to see, honor, and act on them – or they go away.

Even if we like our status quo, it can become a rut unless we do an intentional pattern interrupt.

I’m so grateful for the new insights, new people, and new experiences that emerged this week and have made my life even better.

ACTION

  • Want boats, helicopters, and tall ships to come into your life, career, and relationships?

  • When will you open up time, space, and energetic bandwidth for them?

  • How will you invite the new into your norm?

  • What rut or routine will you disrupt with an intentional pattern interrupt?

P.S. Want to know what makes this epiphany even more special? Today is Oct. 1, the EXACT day I did a pattern interrupt 11 years ago by giving away 95% of what I owned and heading out for a Year by the Water.

The origin and parallels of that story are in this TEDx talk.
