ANECDOTE
This week I spoke at the Health Business Growth Collective Conference in San Diego and thought I’d share a tip from my “POP! Your 30 Second Pitch” session.
I opened with this…
“We’re going to CHRIS ROCK our pitch. He said, ‘Money doesn’t guarantee happiness; it guarantees OPTIONS.’
We’re not just going to discuss ONE way to create an introduction that gets eyebrows up… You’re about to discover 3 WAYS to get eyebrows up!
That way, you can customize every introduction so it’s relevant to the person, the situation, and to your goals and theirs.
I’ll take 5 minutes to share a success story that shows how each option works in the real world, and then share specific steps you can use next time someone asks, ‘What do you do?’
Then you and your GC (Geographically Convenient) partner will have 5 minutes to brainstorm how YOU can do that – whether you’re at the park or meeting a potential client or investor.”
You should have seen how this “5 For Me, 5 For You” model animated the room.
You should have heard the laughter as everyone had fun and got a lot done.
You should have seen the new connections unfolding in real time.
The serving and amplifying that organically emerge will create rising-tide, 1+1=11 connections that will continue into the halls, emails, and phone calls.
ACTION
When is the next time you’ll be in front of a room or on a Zoom?
Could you use (or adapt) this format to set up relevant, mutually meaningful, mutually actionable interactions?
If you do, what you co-create in that room won’t stay in that room.
And, if your goal is to be a Force For Good, then this “5 for Me, 5 for You” approach is an easy, excellent way to do that.
Speaking of being a Force For Good 🙂 Some EXCITING NEWS to share!!
