Someone got in touch with me recently and said she has wanted to write a book for years.
I said. “What’s been keeping you from writing?”
“Well you know, I’ve been busy and I start it and then put it aside and then start it and run out of confidence and then start it and get imposter syndrome, so I just go back and forth on it.”
I nodded and said. “Fast forward to the end of your life, when you look back what will be one of your biggest regrets?”
She says, “That I never wrote the book that I always wanted to write.”
I say, “We can do something about that!”
If there’s anything I’ve learned about turning reasons into results, is you have to pick a date and just get started.
ACTION
- What is something you’ve always wanted to do, but keep putting off for “someday?”
- Get out your calendar right now, pick a date to start, finish, or take a specific action and then get going!
P.S. If you’re ready to stop waiting for “someday,” a Clarity Weekend might be just what you need! Join me this year in Austin, DC, Banff or Hawaii—and take a real step toward making it happen. Details here.
