ANECDOTE
A client who posts daily on LinkedIn asked me, “How can I stand out in an AI-generated content world?”
I told him, “I’ve come to believe we’re at a ‘creative crossroads.’ We can give in and take the easy option, or we can clarify our values and act in alignment with who we want to be and how we want to show up.
If we want people to hire us for our leadership and our lessons-learned, it’s smart to invest our time, mind, and dime to craft and leverage our own EEE – Expertise. Experience. Epiphanies – instead of delegating/relegating our content to a machine.
The client said, “I agree with that in theory. How do I do it?”
“You might want to follow the example of a speaker/founder/coach I know who’s created something called Social Flow and is an expert on Relational Leadership.
He shares recent, real-life examples with universally relevant, metaphorical insights.
People eagerly read his posts, comment, share, and work with him because they’ve come to know, appreciate, respect, and trust him.”
If you want to truly connect in today’s world of INFObesity, putting people in the scene and reliving something that happened with dialogue – is not just rare and welcome – it’s refreshingly… human!
ACTION
Remember to “hook & hinge” your real-life example back to your readers/listeners by asking YOU questions:
When was the last time someone told YOU they didn’t like what was happening?
How did YOU handle it?
Did YOU facilitate them turning a complaint into an ask?”
That turns YOUR story into THEIR story and turns a one-way monologue into a two-way dialogue.
