Every bestselling author at the Maui Writers Conference said they would STILL be working on their book if it wasn’t for their publisher’s deadline.

Face it, books can always be better.

A day after you finish it, you think of something you could’ve said more clearly, a funny anecdote, or the perfect quote.

The thing is, if we wait to get our manuscript perfect, it’ll still be sitting on our laptop months (years?) from now, and that doesn’t do anyone any good.

I know an author who has pushed back the deadline of her current book several months because it “wasn’t ready.”

She finally put a date on the calendar and committed to turning in her book on that date no matter what.

The good news is, her book is coming out this fall! And she is excited by the interviews, speaking engagements, and virtual book clubs already on her calendar.

Completing her book and contributing it to the world has energized and mobilized her and her vision in a way that simply working on it behind the scenes never would have.

Remind yourself, “People can’t jump on my book’s bandwagon if it’s parked in the garage.”
